About TruForce by ACS

One of the key differentiators of ACS and a major benefit of our long term expertise and understanding of our market and product needs is that we design and manufacture our own range of measurement equipment, including electronic load cells and digital indicators. This instrumentation is suitable for either free standing testing situations or retro-fit to existing older testing machines. We also have our TruForce range of testing machines. Our equipment has been exported to countries around the world including U.S.A., U.K., New Zealand, Singapore and the Pacific Islands. All benefit from our leading technology and commitment to providing the right product.

VNCX (Video Non-Contact Extensometer)

VNCX is a non-contact, optical strain measurement device for measuring the average gauge length and width of a tensile specimen without locking in a particular procedure or assuming the material behaves in a particular way. Measurements can be taken throughout the entire testing period up to specimen fracture and hence the proof stress and all elongations can be automatically recorded for every specimen tested.

One or two cameras are mounted on a fixed frame with the camera axis pointing in a direction normal to the tensile test. The camera frame rate is set between 30 and 500 frames per second depending on camera type, lighting, and the field of view. Either manually applied gauge marks such as lines and dots, or the texture formed by the ribs on reinforcing bar, or texture and paint on the specimen surface can be recognized as gauge marks.

Any material, metal, plastic, polymers etc, can be used providing a defining set of marks can be applied.
