Non-Contact Extensometers for Environmental Chambers, Elastomers, Rebar

Epsilon introduces two additional non-contact extensometers: Epsilon ONE-250CE and Epsilon ONE-500CE, optimized for the following applications:
  • Environmental chambers
  • Elastomers, rubber, high-extension plastics
  • Rebar

1. Strain measurement when testing in an environmental chamber
  • Extensometer operates entirely outside of the environmental chamber, so there is no extensometer warm-up period – start testing immediately
  • Easier to handle than contacting extensometers that go inside the chamber
  • Swing-away mounting vastly reduces cycle times

2. Elastomers, rubber, high-extension plastics

  • Tracks to over 1000% strain
  • Eliminates contact stresses – helpful with delicate specimens
  • Works with all high-extension materials – latex rubber, plastics, polymer films

3. Rebar

  • Helps protect lab staff from dangerous, high-energy specimen failures
  • Faster cycle times – no need to mount an extensometer on the specimen – just mark the specimen and test
  • Gauge lengths up to 350 mm with ONE-500CE (contact Epsilon for longer gauge lengths)
Labs are using Epsilon ONE® to measure modulus, yield, load-strain curves and elongation at failure.

See how to determine what Field of View you require, watch an Epsilon ONE® demonstration, and more

When selecting a video extensometer, you will need to know how large the Field of View needs to be for your specimens. Watch the video or calculate it using this Tech Note.

Speaking of selecting a video extensometer, see Epsilon’s Dr. Wes Womack give an in-depth Epsilon ONE demonstration.

Non-contacting extensometers are a great solution when testing in an environmental chamber. See how Epsilon ONE® works with environmental chambers here.

New videos: 3448 setup, 3544 setup, 3442AVG setup

The Model 3448 is for high-temperature tensile and fatigue testing. See how to mount the extensometer on a specimen:

Epsilon Is Now a Microsoft Hardware Partner

Security and trust are essential when installing software on your computer. Since Epsilon is now a qualified Microsoft Hardware Partner, Windows will verify that Epsilon software is from a trusted supplier, Epsilon, prior to installation. Becoming a partner requires passing a vetting process by Microsoft in order to become installable in Windows 10 as a hardware partner. This is a win for Epsilon customers worldwide!
